I haven’t been very active with the blog for several months. Thank you to all who expressed concern. I guess it’s time to come clean with why.
My dad passed away 2 years ago and it was a very difficult experience for me. Way beyond anything I ever imagined.
At that time we invited my mother to come and live with us, which she did.
She passed away on September 26 of this year.
It’s been extremely challenging for me to deal with her death as well. But I’m glad we had those 2 years together. Her health was bad, so it was a very challenging time as I cared for her, but they were 2 precious years that I’ll always hold dear.
I’ve been putting off writing about this because I wanted to give her a wonderful tribute. But the truth is there are no words.
So the best I can do is to quote Darcie Sims:
“My mom taught me everything – except how to live without her.”

Hi Dr Barry,
I recently came across your blog (saw the how to buy breakout thing). I guess it’s strange that my first comment here isn’t about stocks but your posting struck a chord as my mum passed away on feb this year. my condolence on the passing of your beloved mother. Now it’s just me and my dad. Aye man, nothing like a mother’s love. It still hurts certain days, my first experience at losing someone close. I take comfort in the fact that my mum is in a better place, waiting for her loved ones to join her one day. a slight mod to your quote : “My mom taught me everything GOOD – except how to live without her.â€

I just now saw this blog Barry and I’m very sorry to hear about your mom. In the last year I’ve lost the two very best friends I’ll ever have in this world, my dad, and my brother, so I can sympathize with how difficult this can be. You’re right, there are no words, all we can do is soldier on in honor of their memory. My prayers are with you. Mike
